The entrepreneur behind the business

I'm Bela, a devoted 32-year-old mother blessed with four beautiful daughters. My family is the center of my world, and their well-being is my top priority. I hold a certification in Mechanical Engineering, which I earned from a polytechnic institution in Malaysia. My education provided me with a solid foundation in engineering, setting the stage for my future endeavors.

I worked for an impressive six years at the Malaysian government's Work Department, where I was a drafter in the Road Branch. It was a fulfilling career, but I made the decision to step away to focus on my family and my faith as a Muslim woman.

My journey took a turn when I decided to become a full-time mother, dedicating myself to the well-being and upbringing of my daughters. My faith has always been a guiding light, and it plays a central role in my life. I believe that being a good wife and mother is a noble calling in Islam, and it's a role I embrace wholeheartedly.

My ultimate goal is to be a successful Islamic mother, guiding my family on a path to Jannah (paradise). I also aspire to see my daughters succeed in their lives, imparting in them the values of faith, hard work, and determination. As I work from home, I strive to be a loving and supportive wife to my husband.

Life has a way of presenting us with unexpected twists and turns, but it's these experiences that define us. Through faith, determination, and a loving family, I'm committed to navigating life's journey and hope that Allah continues to ease our path toward Jannah.

Why did you start Sujood Studio?

In pursuit of contributing to my family's livelihood and the rising cost of living, I began exploring my creative side. I learned how to design wall art to adorn my daughters' rooms, and I started selling my creations on Etsy, a platform that allowed me to turn my passion into a source of income.

As I delved deeper into the digital world, I was pleasantly surprised to come across Riwaya Marketplace, a platform similar to Etsy but tailored for the Islamic community. The opportunity to showcase my designs and connect with fellow members of the Islamic community on the Riwaya Marketplace filled me with excitement. Being relatively new to this digital landscape, I eagerly embraced the chance to explore and expand my reach within the Islamic community.

What makes your Sujood Studio different?

What makes our Islamic digital product business stand out is our focus on authenticity, diversity, and customer satisfaction. We create digital products that reflect genuine Islamic values and cater to various aspects of Islamic life. We offer customization options, give back to the community, and prioritize user-friendly experiences

What has been your biggest issue running Sujood Studio so far?

Our biggest obstacle so far has been navigating the competitive digital marketplace. With the increasing demand for digital products, the market has become saturated, making it challenging to stand out and reach our target audience effectively

What has been your biggest win so far?

Our biggest win so far, Insha Allah (God willing), has been the positive impact we've had on the lives of our customers and the broader Islamic community, even though we haven't achieved significant sales volumes at this point. Every sale, no matter how small, is a meaningful step in our business journey, and we recognize that our success is ultimately in the hands of Allah

Any future plans you wish to share?

Our vision is to be a trusted source of faith-inspired digital products for Muslims worldwide, and we'll work diligently to achieve these goals

Any advice for other Muslim Entrepreneurs getting started?

"My advice to fellow Muslim entrepreneurs who are starting their own ventures is rooted in both faith and business principles:

Trust in Allah (Tawakkul): Place your trust in Allah and have faith that He is the ultimate planner. While we work hard and plan diligently, the outcomes are ultimately in His hands. Trusting in Allah's wisdom can provide strength and resilience during both highs and lows in business.

Dua (Prayer): Never underestimate the power of prayer. Seek guidance and blessings from Allah through regular dua. It can provide clarity and peace of mind during critical business decisions.
