Welcome to the fourth step in your Riwaya onboarding journey — adding your shipping details.
Once you’ve signed up, defined your brand, filled the KYB questionnaire and added your products, it’s time to set up your shipping. This step is very important. It helps your customers know when to expect their orders and how much they will pay for delivery.
In this guide, we’ll take you through each part of the shipping section. We’ve made it easy to follow, even if you’re new to selling online.
Why Shipping Details Matter
Good shipping information builds trust. Customers are more likely to order if they see clear delivery times and fair rates.
Here’s what you’ll set up:
a. Delivery times
b. Shipping rates
c. Free shipping options
d. Surcharges or discounts
e. Domestic and international shipping options
You’ll find two main tabs in this section:
a. General
b. Shipping Time and Rates
Let’s go through each one.
Tab 1: General

In the General tab, you set the basic rules for your shipping.
1. Set Your Delivery Time
Add how long your delivery usually takes. This will appear on your product pages and help customers decide if they want to buy. You can add the minimum and the maximum delivery time, the maximum limit being 20 days.
Examples:
1–2 working days (for express options)
3–5 working days (for standard delivery)
2. Offer Free Shipping (Optional)
You can choose to offer free shipping on all orders. This can help increase sales. Businesses offering free shipping have a 20% higher conversion rate compared to those that do not.
If you’d rather not offer it on everything, you can still give free shipping on orders over a certain amount - we’ll show you how in the next tab.
Tab 2: Shipping Time and Rates

In this tab, you set the actual costs and rules for different shipping options.
You can add as many rules as you need. Each rule is based on the shipping method and your own preferences.
1. Add a Shipping Method

Start by choosing a method such as:
a. Standard Shipping
b. Express Shipping
c. International Shipping
You can give each one a name and description. For example:
a. Standard Shipping – 3–5 working days
b. Express Shipping – 1–2 working days
Then, choose if you want this method to be available for all orders or only for specific ones.
2. Add Shipping Cost
Now, enter the cost for this shipping method.
You can set it as:
a. A flat rate (e.g. £3.00 per order)
b. Free (e.g. £0.00)
c. Price-based, weight-based, or item-based
Examples:
a. Orders under £30 = £2.50
b. Orders over £30 = Free
c. Orders over 5kg = £2.00 extra
d. More than 5 items = £1.50 surcharge
This gives you control and makes your costs more accurate.
Make sure your charges are fair and easy to understand. Avoid confusing or hidden fees. Customers appreciate clear pricing.
Don’t Forget: UK Shipping Details
If you’re shipping within the UK, double-check your delivery times and costs. UK customers expect fast and reliable shipping.
Tips:
Aim for delivery in 1–3 working days if possible
Clearly explain any delays or exceptions
Use reliable couriers to build trust
What About International Shipping?
Great news - Riwaya supports international shipping! If you want to ship to other countries, you can add them manually.
Here’s how:
Choose the country you want to ship to
Enter the delivery time (e.g. 5–10 working days)
Set the shipping cost for that country
You can also create rules based on weight, price, or item count for each country.
For example:
Ship to France: £7.00 flat rate, 5–7 days
Ship to USA: £12.00 for items under 1kg, £20.00 for 1–2kg
Make sure to check the rates with your delivery provider before setting them here. And always keep your times and fees updated.
Define Your Shipping Policies

Under the tab ‘terms and conditions’, you can add your shipping policy. This is a short summary that helps customers know what to expect.
You can include:
a. How long it takes to dispatch an order
b. Which courier services you use
c. Which countries you ship to
d. If you allow combined shipping or not
e. Any shipping delays to be aware of
Tips for a Smooth Setup
Before you go live, here are a few final tips:
a. Be honest: Don’t promise faster delivery than you can provide.
b. Keep it simple: Too many rules can confuse buyers. Stick to 2–3 shipping methods if possible.
c. Use fair prices: Don't overcharge. If you can, offer discounts or free shipping for large orders.
d. Check everything twice: Mistakes in your shipping setup can lead to delays and bad reviews.
e. Stay updated: If your shipping rates change, update them in your Riwaya dashboard.
Conclusion
Shipping is one of the most important parts of running a successful online shop. When your shipping details are clear and accurate, you create a better experience for your customers. That means more trust, fewer returns, and more repeat orders.
At Riwaya, we’ve made it simple to manage your shipping settings. Whether you only ship to the UK or want to reach customers around the world, you’re in full control.
Once you’ve completed this step, you’re nearly done! The next and final step is to review your store and go live.
