As you enter the second ten days of Ramadan, you have another chance to increase worship, recite the Quran, and seek forgiveness. Ramadan is a blessed month of mercy and guidance during which supplications are most likely to be accepted and answered.
The Prophet (PBUH) said,
“Verily, Allah has people He redeems in every day and night of Ramadan, and every servant among them has a supplication that will be answered.”
(Musnad Ahmad 7450)
While there is no specific dua prescribed exclusively for this period, believers are encouraged to engage in various supplications for guidance, forgiveness, strength, and mercy. That’s why we’ve curated a list of duas for the 2nd ten days of Ramadan from the Quran and Sunnah that you can recite.

What is the Second Ashra of Ramadan?
The second Ashra occurs from the 11th to the 20th of Ramadan. Based on a da’eef (weak) hadith, some scholars believe that the holy month is divided into three parts where the first ten days are mercy, then the middle part is forgiveness and the last ten days are ransom from the fire.
By repenting sincerely and staying committed to doing good, Muslims emerge from this Ashra with a pure heart and a stronger desire to live in a way that pleases Allah. You can recite the recommended duas to seek forgiveness and mercy during the second ten days of this holy month.
Best Duas for the Second ten days of Ramadan
Below is the list of duas you can say during the second ten days of Ramadan:
1. The Most Common Dua for the Second Ashra
Ramadan is the time to sincerely ask Allah to forgive our sins and purify our hearts. One of the most common duas recited during the second Ashra is:
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ رَبِّی مِنْ کُلِّ زَنْبٍ وَّ اَتُوْبُ اِلَیْہِ
Astaghfirullah Rabbi min kulli dhanbin wa atubu ilaih
‘I seek forgiveness from Allah for all my sins and turn to Him.’
Reciting this dua sincerely helps you recognise your mistakes and seek Allah’s mercy. No one is perfect, and everyone falls short at times, but Ramadan is a special opportunity to ask for a fresh start. The more you seek forgiveness, the closer you get to Allah, and the more peaceful your heart becomes.
2. The Best Dua for Seeking Forgiveness (Sayyid ul Istaghfar)
The Prophet (PBUH) said that the most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allah is this dua:
‘O Allah! You are my Lord. There is no true god except You. You have created me, and I am Your slave, and I hold to Your Covenant as far as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge the favours that You have bestowed upon me, and I confess my sins. Pardon me, for none but You have the power to pardon.’
(Sahih al-Bukhari 6306)
The Prophet (PBUH) mentioned that whoever recites this dua during the day with firm belief and dies before the evening will be among the people of Paradise. Similarly, if someone recites it at night with firm faith and dies before the morning, they will be among the people of Paradise.
3. Dua for Guidance
Seeking Allah’s guidance is essential, especially during Ramadan, when Muslims strive to purify their hearts and strengthen their faith.
Qul Allahumma ihdini wa saddidni.
O Allah, direct me to the right path and make me adhere to the straight path.
(Sahih al-Muslim 2725a)
This short yet powerful supplication was taught by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to seek divine direction in all aspects of life. Regularly reciting this dua can help you stay guided and steadfast in your faith, especially when faced with challenges.

4. Dua for Seeking Forgiveness for Oneself, Parents, and the Believers
Asking for forgiveness is one of the most important acts of worship in Ramadan. Not only should you seek forgiveness for yourself, but also for your parents and fellow believers. This powerful supplication was made by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), showing his deep concern for his parents and the entire Muslim Ummah.
Rabbana ighfir li wa liwalidayya wa lil-mu’minina yawma yaqumul hisaab.
Our Lord! Forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day when the judgment will come to pass.
(Surah Ibrahim, verse 41)
This dua beautifully shows that true faith goes beyond personal benefit. One should show care for others not only through acts of service but also by remembering them in prayers.
5. Dua for Purity of Heart

During Ramadan, when hearts are softened and souls are drawn closer to Allah, reciting this supplication can help cleanse your heart from negativity and bitterness. It encourages humility, reminds you to forgive others, and strengthens the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood in Islam.
Yaquluna Rabbana ighfir lana wa li-ikhwanina alladhina sabaquna bil-imani wala taj‘al fi qulubina ghillan lilladhina amanu Rabbana innaka ra’ufun rahim
Our Lord! Forgive us and our fellow believers who preceded us in faith, and do not allow bitterness into our hearts towards those who believe. Our Lord! Indeed, You are Ever Gracious, Most Merciful.
(Surah al-Hashar, verse 10)
6. Dua against Laziness and Cowardice
As Ramadan reaches its midpoint, the initial excitement often fades, and you may find yourself becoming less consistent in worship. This is the perfect time to renew your intentions and seek Allah’s help by making this dua a lot.
Allaahumma innee a'udhu bika minal-hammi walhazani, wal'ajzi wal-kasali, wal-jubli wal-bukhli, wa dhala'id-dayni, wa ghalabatir-rijaal
O Allah! I seek refuge with You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, from being heavily in debt and from being overpowered by (other) men.
(Sahih al-Bukhari 6369)
This supplication was frequently recited by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to seek Allah’s protection from various difficulties that affect both spiritual and worldly life. You too should recite it regularly as it can help renew motivation and maintain sincerity in worship throughout Ramadan and beyond.
7. Dua for Acceptance of Worship
While worshipping during Ramadan, you can’t take it for granted that all your ibadah will be accepted. No matter how much we try, we rarely reach perfection—our minds wander, and our intentions may not always be as pure as they should be.
This dua was made by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his son, Prophet Ismail (AS) after they completed the construction of the Kaaba. Even after fulfilling a great act of worship, they turned to Allah, humbly asking for its acceptance.
Rabbana taqabbal minna, innaka Anta As-Sami‘ul-‘Alim
Our Lord! Accept ˹this˺ from us. You are indeed the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
(Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 127)
Therefore, it’s important to ask Allah to accept your efforts. After every act of worship, make this dua sincerely, seeking Allah’s acceptance and mercy.
8. Dua for Success in the Hereafter
The following is the most popular dus from the Quran as mentioned in Surah al-Baqarah:
رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِى ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةًۭ وَفِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةًۭ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina ‘adhaban-nar
Our Lord! Grant us the good of this world and the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.
(Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 201)
What makes this dua so powerful is its comprehensive nature. It is like an all-inclusive request, allowing you to ask Allah for anything good in both this life and the Hereafter.
