The ongoing genocide in Palestine and Gaza calls for immediate global action to put an end to this injustice. Every day, you hear the news of Palestinians being oppressed and brutally killed, even including women and innocent children, in their own land.
It has been 75 years since Nakba in 1948. Throughout these years, Palestinians have endured unimaginable oppression and suffering. In this situation, many Muslims feel at a loss for words, unable to do anything but pray for the protection, success, and freedom of the people of Palestine.
That’s why this article shares six heartfelt duas for Palestine and Gaza adapted from the Holy Quran and the Sunnah that you can recite for the ease and patience of the people of Palestine.
Before exploring these duas, remember that the most important aspect of making a dua is the sincerity and intention behind it. The Prophet (PBUH) said,
‘Know that Allah does not answer a dua from an inattentive heart.’
(At-Tirmidhi 3479)
A dua that comes from your heart with pure intentions is a good dua, even if it is not a specific dua from the Quran or the Sunnah. You can pray for your brothers and sisters in Palestine in any language; it is how your heart naturally converses with Allah and asks for His help in this difficult time.
To enhance your dua and dhikr experience, explore this carefully curated collection of prayer beads, designed to inspire focus and spirituality during your worship!
The leaders of many countries have ignored this serious issue, and no real steps have been taken to stop this injustice in Palestine. In the middle of all this deep heartbreak and despair, Allah is the only hope. He is the only One who can truly help.
Do you know how Prophet Ibrahim (AS) reacted when his people threw him into the fire for rejecting idol worship? He remained calm and put all his hope and trust in Allah Almighty and said,
Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal wakeel
‘Allah is sufficient for us and how excellent a guardian!’
(Surah Al-Imran, verse 173)
Then, Allah commanded fire to be cool and safe for Ibrahim (AS), and the fire obeyed Him. This incident reminds Muslims to never lose hope in Allah and to keep making dua for Palestine and Gaza.
Allah says in the Quran,
‘Call upon Me, I will respond to you.’
(Surah Ghafir, verse 60)
During these difficult times, you can recite the following duas for the people of Palestine:
This powerful dua from Surah Al-A’raf is a heartfelt plea for strength during hard times. It was recited by the magicians who, after believing in Prophet Musa (AS), asked Allah for patience and to die as true believers. It encourages everyone to seek His help to stay strong and patient through life's trials.
Rabbana afrigh 'alayna sabran wa tawaffana muslimeen
‘Our Lord! Shower us with patience, and let us die while submitting (to You).’
(Surah Al-A’raf, verse 126)
You can recite this dua for the people of Gaza and Palestine, asking Allah to bless them with patience and unwavering faith in His power.
The following dua is taken from the morning and evening prayers of our beloved Prophet (PBUH):
اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي وَاحْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَىَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي
Allahumma astur 'awraati wa amin raw'ati wahfazni min bayni yadayya wa min khalfi wa 'an yamini wa 'an shimali wa min fawqi
‘O Allah, conceal my faults, calm my fears, and protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and my left, and from above me.’
(Sunan Ibn Majah 3871)
Through this dua, you can ask Allah for protection from all sides and every harm. This powerful prayer befits the people of Gaza, who are currently surrounded by danger and violence.
This verse from the Quran is a powerful dua that you can recite for the patience and victory of the people of Gaza and Palestine against disbelievers. It describes a moment when Prophet Dawud’s (David) AS army faced the forces of Jalut (Goliath). They turned to Allah and asked for patience, courage, and victory.
This supplication teaches Muslims to rely on Allah’s strength and stay firm in times of hardship.
Qaaloo rabbanaa afrigh 'alainaa sabran wa sabbit aqdaamanaa wansurnaa 'alal qawmil kaafireen
‘…they prayed, Our Lord! Shower us with perseverance, make our steps firm, and give us victory over the disbelieving people.’
(Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 250)
Salim Abu An Nadr narrated that he worked as a clerk for Umar bin Ubaidullah. Once Abdullah bin Abi Aufa wrote to Umar during his campaign against the Al-Haruriya. In the letter, it was mentioned that during one of the Prophet's (PBUH) battles, he waited until the sun began to set before addressing his companions.
He advised them to seek Allah's protection and not wish to meet the enemy, but if faced with the enemy, be patient, and remember that Paradise is under the shades of swords. Then, he made this dua:
اللَّهُمَّ مُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابِ سَرِيعَ الْحِسَابِ مُجْرِيَ السَّحَابِ هَازِمَ الأَحْزَابِ اهْزِمْهُمْ وَزَلْزِلْهُم وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ
Allahumma Munzil al-Kitab, Saree' al-Hisab, Mujri al-Sahab, Hazim al-Ahzab, Izhimhum wa Zallizilhum wa Nsurna 'alaihim
‘O Allah, the Revealer of the Holy Book, and the Mover of the clouds and the Defeater of the clans, defeat them and grant us victory over them.’
(Sahih al-Bukhari 3024/3025)
This dua is a reminder of Allah’s power to hold people accountable. You can recite this dua for Palestine and Gaza to support them and pray for their success in overcoming those who are destroying their lives and homeland.
This verse from Surah An-Nisa can be related to the situation of the Palestinians, who have endured decades of oppression and hardship. It is a powerful reminder of seeking Allah’s help and intervention in times of extreme injustice.
Rabbana akhrijna min hadhihi al-qaryati al-zalimi ahluha wa-jil lana min ladunka waliyyan wa-jil lana min ladunka naseera
‘Our Lord! Deliver us from this land of oppressors! Appoint for us a saviour; appoint for us a helper—all by Your grace.’
(Surah An-Nisa, verse 75)
For the people of Palestine, this verse is a prayer for divine help, guidance, and justice, recognising that only Allah’s grace can bring relief and freedom from their suffering.
Umm Salama (RA), the wife of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), reported Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said that If any servant of Allah suffers calamity, he/she should say:
إِنَّا للهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ، اللَّهمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيْبَتِي، وَاخْلُفْ لِي خَيْرا ً مِنْهَا
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon, Allahumma ajurni fi musibati, wakhluf li khayran minha
‘Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him, we shall return. O Allah, reward me in my affliction and replace it with something better for me.’
(Sahih Muslim, 918b)
You can recite this dua for the people of Palestine, asking Allah to grant them a reward for their patience and strength in the face of pain and injustice.

(Sunan Abi Dawud 1535)
