Barakah (divine blessings) come from actions that increase happiness and growth in our lives.

Everyday life full of divine blessings sounds like a great way to live. But how can we as Muslim entrepreneurs increase our blessings in our businesses?

    What is Barakah?

Barakah, at its core, means blessings or rewards from Allah. It encompasses both material and non-material blessings bestowed upon individuals and their endeavors. In the context of business, barakah manifests itself as sustainable growth, increased profitability, and a harmonious work environment. Barakah is not solely determined by one's own efforts, but rather a gift from Allah.

How to Increase Barakah in Business?

Here are six ways we at Riwaya incorporate barakah strategies in the way we run:

    1) Give To Charity

Charitable giving is often regarded as a powerful means of increasing barakah in any aspect of life, including business. By sharing our blessings with those in need, we not only fulfill our obligation to help others but also create a positive ripple effect. Allocate a portion of your business profits towards impactful charitable causes within your community or beyond. Whether it's supporting education initiatives, providing clean water access, or aiding humanitarian efforts, every act of charity can help attract divine blessings to your business.

    2) Increase Blessings Through Gratitude

Expressing gratitude is a powerful tool that can unlock the doors to barakah in your business. Take time to reflect on the blessings and successes you've experienced thus far, regardless of their scale. Cultivate a habit of daily gratitude by keeping a gratitude journal or verbally appreciating your achievements. This practice not only strengthens your relationship with a higher power but also attracts positive energy and opportunities, propelling your business towards success.

    3) Start Your Day Early

The early hours of the day possess a unique sense of tranquility and productivity. By starting your day early, you can tap into this serene atmosphere and set the tone for a more blessed and productive day ahead. Engage in activities that nourish your mind, body, and soul during these early hours. This can include meditation, reading, exercise, or engaging in spiritual practices. Starting your day with intention and a clear focus allows you to harness the abundant blessings that await you.

    4) Maintain Ties

Building and nurturing meaningful relationships is enjoined by Allah and Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and it's vital for business success. Maintaining strong ties not only with families and friends but also with your customers, employees, suppliers, and stakeholders is an effective way of fostering barakah in your business. Act with kindness and integrity, listen attentively, and honor your commitments. By creating a harmonious and supportive network, you invite positive energy and blessings into your entrepreneurial journey.

    5) Halal Revenue

Halal (lawful) earnings is of utmost importance, ensuring that your business operates within the boundaries of ethical and lawful practices is key to attracting divine blessings. Strive to maintain transparency, fairness, and honesty in all aspects of your business dealings. Avoid engaging in fraudulent activities, exploitation, or manipulation. This conscious effort to generate halal revenue cultivates an environment of integrity, leading to sustained barakah in your business.

Always make sure revenue is generated through halal means. Our partner businesses all respect these values. Investments should be vetted to ensure halal trade. No interest should be involved.

    6) Tawakul

Tawakul, translated as "reliance on God," is an essential component in increasing barakah in your business. It involves putting your trust in a higher power while making efforts and taking calculated risks. Tawakul is not passive waiting, but rather an active state of faith combined with hard work. By cultivating tawakul, you release anxiety and worry, enabling you to make sound decisions and embrace the results with gratitude. This trust in divine guidance amplifies barakah in your business endeavors.

Always remember that what is written in yours so trust Allah and let's enjoy the journey.
