Sidr is the Arabic name for the Lote tree. The dried and ground leaves of this tree produce a fine greenish powder.
It is sometimes called Qasil in Somali culture, where it is traditionally used as a natural shampoo and skin cleanser.
Traditional Uses
Hair Care: Acts as a natural cleanser, conditioner, and anti-dandruff agent. Unlike harsh shampoos, it doesn't strip natural oils.
Skin Care: Used in face masks for its antibacterial and soothing properties—great for acne, eczema, and general skin detox.
